France for visitors

Corniche des Maures
France > Côte d'Azur > Resorts and islands > Corniche des Maures

The Côte really gets going with the resorts of the Corniche des Maures, as multi-million-dollar residences lurk increasingly in the hills, even more luxurious yachts moor in the bays, and seafront prices become alarming. This is the place where the rich and famous go to seed: Douglas Fairbanks Jr, the late Grand Duke of Luxembourg and a host of sundry titled names have pushed this coastline into legend.

The Corniche des Maures has beaches that shine silver (from the mica crystals in the sand), tall dark pines, oaks and eucalyptus to shade them, glittering rocks of purple, green and reddish hue and chestnut-forested hills keeping winds away.

Pages in section ‘Corniche des Maures’: Bormes-les-Mimosas, Le Lavandou to La Croix-Valmer.
