The gare routière is west of the city beyond boulevard Juranville on rue du Prado, while the gare SNCF lies 1km to the north of the centre, on avenue Pierre Sémard. The tourist office, which faces the south facade of the cathedral, is at 21 rue Victor-Hugo (AprilSept MonSat 9am7pm, Sun 10am7pm; OctMarch MonSat 9am6pm, Sun 25pm; tel 02.48.23.02.60, www.ville-bourges.fr), and there's also a regional tourist office at 5 rue de Séraucourt (tel 02.48.48.00.10, www.berrylecher.com). The main street, rue Moyenne, runs north from rue Victor-Hugo, with the old medieval quarter falling away to the east, below the cathedral.Accommodation in Bourges mostly fails to make the best of the old city, the only attractive options being two three-star hotels and a superb bed-and-breakfast.
