Bikes can be rented from Nature Évasion, 73 av Cavignac (tel 05.65.37.65.17), out on the west side of town.For an overnight stay, the Hôtel de la Promenade, on the northwestern side of the ring road at 48 bd Galiot-de-Genouillac (tel 05.65.41.41.44, www.lapromenadegourdon.fr; €3040), is a cheerful place with immaculate rooms and a decent restaurant (closed Sun; menus from €11.10). On the opposite side of town, near the post office, is the agreeable Bissonnier, 51 bd des Martyrs (tel 05.65.41.02.48, fax 05.65.41.44.67; €5570; closed Dec & Jan), with a good restaurant serving such local specialities as confits and stuffed duck's neck (closed Sun eve & Mon lunch OctApril; menu from €14). There's a well-equipped municipal campsite, Ecoute s'il Pleut (tel 05.65.41.06.19, fax 05.65.41.09.88; closed OctMay), 1km north on the Sarlat road. For a pleasant independent restaurant, try the Croque-Note on the corner of rue Jean-Jaurès and boulevard Cabanes on the south side of the old town (meals from around €11).
