Description : The extremity of Cap Ferret is known as "La Pointe". To fight off attacks by the wind, waves and storms, wooden pillars known as "ganivelles" have been inserted in the sand. Between 1977 and 1996 the sea ate 440 meters from the land on this specific beach.
