The Ossau valley is notable mainly for its distinctive Pic du Midi and some beautiful lakes set in rugged country. The valley is served by three bus companies: Sarl Canonge, CITRAM and SNCF. SNCF coaches ply once daily at weekends as far as Artouste-Fabrèges; CITRAM veers east to Gourette and the Col d'Aubisque every day from July to mid-September and again (to Gourette only) in the skiing season; while Sarl Canonge provides a summer-only link from Laruns to the Col du Pourtalet via Gabas and Fabrèges. Pages in section ‘Along the Ossau’: Pau to Laruns, Gabas, Pic du Midi d'Ossau, Lacs d'Ayous, Col d'Aubisque.
